MAKA’s mission

MAKA means “Earth” in Lakota language. Its symbol is the flower of life which, among its many meanings (this symbol of sacred geometry is found in many civilizations and has been for thousands of years), is considered to be the illustration that everything is connected. All of us, whether we like it or not, are connected in some way.

MAKA reveals your own beauty, helps you maintain your well-being, and is a creator of virtuous circles.

Our mission is to provide you with quality, natural beauty products, raw materials for your DIY cosmetics, workshops, and giving back to communities.

MAKA uses part of its turnover to set up social projects with the communities that are the basis of our raw materials. The first project will take place in Morocco.

The social projects will depend on requests from interested parties. The creation process is quite simple: I ask them what they want me to do for them.

The first project will take place in Morocco. The women producers I met there expressed their desire to learn to read and write, in order to stop being always dependent on men. Wow, that makes you think!

A part of your purchases will be used to set up this project and to give access to this basic right to these strong and courageous women who have been denied this right by society and their life circumstances.

For them, thank you ❤️

We have also implemented a virtuous circle co-responsible on our containers, you can learn more here.

MAKA recovers its shipping boxes! If they are in good condition, they will be used again! This allows our customers and ourselves to limit our impact on our environment.

If you have any questions or would like to write us a little word of encouragement, please leave a comment – it’s much appreciated!

See you soon,

Jennifer
